The Story of the Forgotten Lake

the lost lake Dec 17, 2023

In the heart of nature in the region of Piedmonte in north of Italy, where history tells about many good fishing moments, lies a forgotten haven—a lake that has slumbered in tranquility for more than 20 years.  The surface was untouched by the ripples of fishing lines for far too long. But now, we start the fascinating journey of restoration.

The lake, a totally forgotten fishing spot , reveals its potential as we take those first steps towards its revival.  Over the years, it has kept its secrets hidden beneath the surface—unseen, untouched, and waiting for the moment when its story can be continued.

Restoring a lake that hasn’t seen fishing lines for years, is an act of commitment to the natural habitat. It's about more than just fixing; it's also about revitalizing the spirit of a place that has been sleeping for years, ready to welcome happy anglers for new adventures.

We are so happy to transform this forgotten oasis into a thriving ecosystem where hopefully fish will flourish, and the circle of life will regain its rhythm.

Now, there has been 15 guys working for about a month to get this project going. All the work is voluntary. All of the banks around the lake have been cleaned up in order to make it more accessible for anglers that uses a fly rod. There has been installed a net to divide the lake in two different areas, one for rainbow trout and one for white fish. We even had two scuba divers in this process for to secure the net, see the photos!

The boats are now in place and test fishing has been successful! This is truly amazing – and one of the fishermen even caught his first fish from a boat, ever!

The lake opened one week ago – and I’m so happy to see the activity is back in this place! It is an important area for to meet up with other anglers and brilliant for practising different techniques  - and sharing and learning from each other!

 Tight Lines!
